Easy Sourdough Sandwich Loaves
This recipe was submitted by Mary Alice McKenzie and it sounds yummy.
RECIPE:
{Makes 2 loaves}
In a large bowl or stand mixer, mix together:
1 1/3 cup water
1/3 cup oil of choice
3/4 cup active/fed starter
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Slowly mix/knead in 5 1/2 cups all purpose flour.
After about 5 minutes of mixing, the dough should come together and be soft and only slightly sticky.
Transfer the dough into a greased plastic bowl. (metal bowls can affect sourdough)
Place in the oven with just the light on, and let rise 2 1/2 hours. This is the first rise.
After the first rise, gently stretch and fold the dough.
Place it back into the oven for 1 1/2 hours. This is the second rise.
After the second rise, divide the dough into two equal pieces and shape into loaves
Place the loaves into greased loaf pans, and put back into the oven for 1 1/2 hours. This is the third and final rise.
Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. Enjoy!
